 Dental Treatment Under Sedation

Naturally you want to feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible during
your dental treatment, some patients undergoing prolonged or extensive
treatments may wish to be sedated during this time, this can be safely
achieved using Concious Sedation methods.

Couscious Sedation is a form of anxiety control which enables patients
who are very nervous of dental treatment or, indeed, have a phobia of
going to the dentist, to relax and cope with all forms of dental
treatment.

Whilst Conscious Sedation is not in anyway a General Anaesthetic, it is
a form of treatment using special medication given intravenously, that
induces a very relaxed state.

Couscious Sedation will make you feel very sleepy and relaxed, most
patients remember little or nothing of the procedure they have had
however throughout the treatment you will still be able to hear your
dentists voice and communicate.

This technique is undetaken by a Dentist specially trained in I.V.
Sedation techniques who will fully assess your overall health before
the appointment for treatment, and give you full details of what is
involved.

Patients who have undergone treatment under sedation can feel drowsy
for upto 8 hours and some people sleep very heavily after treatment
under Sedation. Anyone undergoing dental treatment under Conscious
Sedation needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult who is
able to escort them home and spend time with them afterwards.
